Podcasting Here to Stay

Podcasting is the next step in the flattening of our world. Beyond the rants of individuals, podcasting will evlove as a medium of productivity and knowledge. When time is the most precious commodity, multi-tasking is the way we'll live and learn.

How this new medium can be used by business is outlined in this BrandWeek article I wrote.

It's interesting, a couple of weeks back I had downloaded ten podcasts from the Ad Tech conference in San Francisco. Then last weekend I listened to them while I painted my livingroom.

Listening to these interviews at the same time I was painting, actually made me unaware of the fact that I HATE painting. I now schedule my podcast listening around tasks that I loathe, just so I can zone out on what I'm actually doing. If it wasn't on demand, I couldn't do that. Not that I look forward to rush hour traffic, but it's bearable now.

Chris, with five kids, I'm doing a bunch of painting myself. I made the boys room look like a basketball court complete with lockers.

Girls wanted violet, yellow and light blue.

I still have one more to do.

Did you do your listening primarily for advancing your knowledge about work topics or more for personal non-work related reasons?
